SKERIK, Mary Joan
On the evening of Saturday, September 6, 2003 our beloved Mary peacefully went to join her life long partner and husband William (Bill) Gordon Skerik and niece Sharon Ann Laidlaw (nee Morris).
Mary had to leave behind those she deeply loved and cared for. Mary’s nephew Thomas R. Laidlaw of Errington, BC and family Mikal, Domincke, Ryan and Mackenzie. Nephew Robert James Laidlaw and family James and Brandon. Nephew-in-law Robert Gordon Laidlaw of Smithers, BC. Mary is also survived by family Don and Jean Skerik of Ladysmith, Kristi and Turnell Skerik of Alberta and David Skerik of Vancouver. She will be sadly missed by her close and best friends Greg Penner, Rick and Barb Penner, Sharon Newton (Squirrelly), Paul Saunders (Polygons) and all her other countless friends she made throughout her life.
Oh happy hours we once enjoyed, how sweet the memories still. But death has left a loneliness the world can never fill.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2003 at 2:00 p.m., #19 - 450 Bay Avenue, Parksville, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
