ERICKSON,
Mildred Elizabeth Theresa (nee Torry)
Born March 26, 1903, passed away peacefully
June 8, 2005 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, B.C.
Mildred was born in Stoke Newington, England and moved to Canada with her parents and brother in December of 1912. They lived in Kapuskasing, Ontario during WW1 where her father and brother Stanley Torry, were stationed.
Following the war the family moved to Toronto and in 1924 drove across Canada and the United States to settle in Vancouver. Here she worked as a secretary and met her husband Eric. They moved to New Westminster and then settled in Burnaby where they raised their
sons, Philip, Denis and Daryl. Mildred and Eric retired to Qualicum Beach in 1967 where Mildred has enjoyed her home, garden and ocean views. Mildred was
predeceased by her husband Eric in 1976, and her son Philip and daughter-in-law Olga in 2004.
She is survived by her loving sons Denis (Pam), Daryl (Susan), grandchildren Steven Erickson, Christopher (Diane) Erickson, Lynette (Todd) Apley, Darren (Kim)
Erickson, Suzanne (Sean) Dante, and Paul (Sabina) Erickson; and her great grandchildren Ashley, Jack, Annelies, Cicely, and Ella.
She is also survived by her niece Beth Miller and
second cousin Blanche (Ben) Maartman and brother-in-law Stanley Erickson (Fawny) and sister-in-law Mickey Erickson.
