Born in Calgary on December 16, 1969, died in Halifax on February 26, 2005.


A husband, a father, a son, a brother, a friend. A builder and creator with an immense appreciation of beautiful things. A man of passion. A

man of joy. A man who truly lived every day to the fullest. A man who was loved and respected and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Raised in Calgary and recently settled in Halifax with his wife Heidi, in 2000. He became a father to Riali Snow in January 2003 and graduated with his Masters of Architecture from Dalhousie in October 2004.

Dean was diagnosed in December with an autoimmune disease called Dermatomyositis and died in hospital of complications related to his condition.

Dean is survived by his wife Heidi Louise and daughter Riali Snow, Dartmouth, NS, father Norman Wayne Poffenroth, and his companion (Bev Langille) Vernon, BC, mother and stepfather Patricia Lynn and Douglas Kew, Parksville, BC, sister Leesa Donnalene Poffenroth,

Calgary, AB, grandmother Elaine Poffenroth, Calgary, AB, grandfather Harold Tangen, Swift Current, SK, parents-in-law Rod and Susan Moores, Port Maitland, NS, and brothers-in-law Peter Moores, Hong Kong, and Andrew Moores, Corvallis, OR, aunts and uncles Maureen,

Murray, Arlie, Trevor, of Calgary, AB, and Gloria and Darren of Saskatchewan.


Service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 11:00 am at the Music Room, 6074 Lady Hammond Road, Halifax, N.S.
