November 4, 1962 - April 16, 2024

Patti passed away April 16, at home surrounded by her family after gracefully and courageously battling cancer. It was a beautiful and peaceful afternoon filled with love, the sun shining on her, and the sweet melodies of the songbirds and hummingbirds filling the day.

Everyone who met Patti was changed for the better. Family, friends, and her surrounding community were touched by the kindness she shared with everyone. She always looked for the positive in every situation and would be the first person to volunteer.

She lived for the small moments of life and always reminded us of what was truly important - to LOVE AND BE KIND, even when the world is unkind to you, and to take care of your family. She always welcomed you into her home with open arms and an open heart.

Patti loved just about everything, especially when it came to gardening. She loved to have her "hands in the dirt" and marveled in the wonders of nature and being outside. She delighted in long walks with her four-legged friends, Gracie, Malpha and Bu, in the trail systems surrounding Errington. She grew up in Qualicum Beach and made her life in Campbell River and Errington, spending her time on the water in Alberta, Lantzville, and Parksville.

She also treasured her time in the mountains both as a child in Jasper National Park, and later in Waterton National Park, hiking and swimming and, most of all, being in nature with family and friends who came to visit.

Patti had a great sense of humor and liked to laugh and sing. She cherished the small moments like dancing in the kitchen with her husband, Dean. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, especially her children Diana and Robert, her daughter-in-law Vanessa, and her two grandsons, Phillip and Walker.

Patti also loved her extended family and their children. Children were naturally attracted to her. A warm smile and a big hug were always the greeting for every person that came to know Patti. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Patti is survived by her husband Dean; her children Diana, Robert (Vanessa, Phillip, Walker); her brothers Greg, Ross (Shelly, Jessica, Tyler) and Arthur (Joanna, Brittany, Kiara); her sister Lisa (Cory, Connor, Erin); her chosen family Rene, Sharon, Claire, and Daniel; her step-daughter Nikki (Justin); step-sons Ryan (Erin, Aislin, Coen), Rod (Suzie), and Derek (Deidre, Dexyn); her niece Amber; and so many close friends and family.

Patti is predeceased by her parents Joan and Bill Warham, Marion and Gerry McDonald; her brother Brant; her first husband Phill, and mother-in law Vera Ryder. We know that Patti is resting easy now and continues to watch over us all with her deep love and her beautiful smile.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Errington War Memorial Hall at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up a GoFundMe to purchase a memorial bench and/or tree in Patti's name. Please use this link: https://gofund.me/9e00d0f0
