MACKIE, PATRICIA

(January 30, 1931~August 6, 2007)

Passed away peacefully August 6, 2007 in her home in Rosedale. Patricia was the youngest of three daughters born to Rosina and John Kirton on January 30, 1931 in Brandon, Manitoba.

She was married in Victoria in October 1948 to Alfred John Mackie. They spent most of their married life on Vancouver Island raising their four children; Bob, Susan, Linda and Jim. Patricia and John were active members on the Qualicum Beach Golf Course when they first moved there in 1974. Patricia loved her time spent with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Qualicum Beach Legion and more recently with Branch # 4 in Chilliwack. Patricia was a well - loved mother and grandmother who dedicated her life in providing support to her family and friends. The joy of cooking was her passion and many a Legion bake sale as well as catered dinners have benefited from her talents.

She was predeceased by her husband John (October 2006), as well as her sisters, Maude Parrett and Bea Ross. A very special friend, Irene Ward passed on several weeks ago and we are sure that these lifelong friends will be making their journey to Heaven together!
