Peter James O’Rourke
April 19, 1938 – February 24, 2017
Peter O’Rourke passed away at his residence in Qualicum Beach on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the age of 78. Peter leaves behind to mourn his best friend and companion, Patricia Ferguson, children, Kelly O’Rourke and Kari (Tim) O’Rourke, two grandchildren, Jenna and Jayden Matchett, loving sister, Kathleen Snider, numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Kevin and Tom.
Originally from Clandonald, AB, Peter made his way west to Calgary, Kelowna and finally put down roots in the Parksville area for the past 32 years.
Throughout the years, there was nothing Peter couldn’t do. A small business owner, welder, carpenter, fisherman and finally ending his working years as a school bus driver for the local school district. He made many good friends wherever he went with his fun-loving personality. Blessing us all with his charm and talent for pickin’ and a grinnin’ Peter entertained for 50+ years playing guitar and a mean fiddle with many good friends, including Bruce, Terry, Tom and Bob to mention a few.
The family would like to acknowledge the care of the staff at The Gardens at Qualicum Beach.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
