PEARCE, Raymond Alexander (Buster)

June 27, 1929 - August 17, 2007

On the morning of August 17, Buster passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Honoured to have had him in their lives are Dorothy, his wife of 55 years; his children, Sandra Somerville (Ed), Ric Pearce (Christine), Christina Smith (Dan) along with his grandchildren, Dana (Kyle), Ryan, Paul, Janelle, Nadine, Meghan, Carmen (Dylan), Evan, Challayne (Rob), Braden, his great-grandson, Jalen, and his three great-grand puppies. He also leaves behind his sisters, Joanne (Laverne) and Margie (Bob), his cousin Bob (Heather) and their children, and his brother-in-law Russell and family.

Born in Calgary and raised in Vancouver, Buster married Dorothy in 1952 and raised their family in Richmond. He was an avid football fan and coach in his community, and spent his working life on fishing boats and at Agency Press as a lithographic colour technician. After retiring, Buster and Dorothy traveled throughout North America in their motor home, eventually settling in Parksville.

His mischievous grin and sense of humour made him popular with young people, many of whom he embraced as family. Buster will be remembered as a loving man who occasionally prevaricated the truth. His spirit and devotion to family will remain with us forever.

There will be a celebration of Buster?Äôs life at 2pm on Saturday, August 25th, at Fairwinds Golf Club in Nanoose Bay.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to BC Children?Äôs Hospital, pediatrics oncology ward.
