Raymond William Fenn

(1916-2010)

Raymond William Fenn died April 26, 2010 in Nanaimo Regional Hospital at the age of 94. Predeceased by his wife Edna, grandson Noel Hamish and great grandson Noel Peter. Survived by his daughters Jennifer and Jane and their families.

Ray was an avid reader. Mulberry Books will notice a huge downturn in revenue. He loved music of all kinds. His grandsons would give him various CD’s that he would listen to with relish. It was hard to remember how old he was. He would go shopping with his grand daughter with no complaints even when she wore him out. He was very concerned about social justice. He gave to many causes that he believed in. Ray was a loyal friend. He remained friends with men he knew since their days at theological college.  Ray was a published poet. He had a dry wit and a wicked intellect. Long before the advent of Google we had Raymond. His many careers included social worker, minister, funeral director and during the war, ambulance driver.

There will be a celebration of Raymond’s life at Bailey’s (670 Primrose St) in Qualicum Beach on May 15th at 5pm. everyone is welcome. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favourite charity. Wear your favourite clothes.
