Rhea Thornley Mahony
February 17, 1925 – March 10, 2017
Born in Toronto, Ontario, passed away on March 10, 2017, at Nanaimo General Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur and son Ronald.
Rhea is survived by her sisters Betty and Pat, son Daniel (Wanda) and grandchildren Michael (Jennifer), Scott (Heather) and Kelly (Neil); as well by four great grandchildren Dominic, Michaela, Emily and Samantha, and nephew Warren.
Rhea and Art moved to California in 1965 where she lived and worked the majority of her life and also in Washington State. In 2014 she returned to Canada to live with her son.
Rhea was a beautiful, dignified, strong and independent person whose great joy was walks with her grandchildren especially around Green Lake in Seattle. She enjoyed music very much and was a devoted mother.
Though we’re apart you are part of me still. Thanks, Mom, for the music and being
there for me no matter what.
