We are saddened to announce the passing of Laurie McIvor. Laurie was diagnosed with kidney cancer in April 2017; he was hospitalized June 2017 in Victoria. He fought with great courage but after a short, very diffcult battle he passed peacefully with his family by his side, at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, September 3, 2017.
He is survived by his loving wife Wanda, son Wayne (Debbie) granddaughters Whitney and Rhiannon , daughter Laura (Karl), grandsons Parker and Leeland, brothers Trevor (Carla) and David (Ethel), step-brothers Dennis (Betty) Shaw and Brian Shaw, and many other relatives, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Buck McIvor, his birth mother Peggy McIvor, his step-mother Honour (Snooks) Lillian McIvor, brother Malcolm McIvor, and step-brother Blaine Shaw. Laurie worked in the forest industry all his working life. He loved nature and lived to fish and hunt.
We hope now he finds the game is plentiful and there are no limits on the catch. No service at his request. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Trillium Lodge, Hospice Unit, 401 Moilliet St, Parksville, BC V9P 2G9
