Roberta F GREIG

April 3, 2009

1924 – 2009

A truly marvelous individual, Roberta left us after a lifetime of caring for and giving to others. Born in Vancouver, B.C., she graduated in Nursing with First Class Honours from Royal Jubilee Hospital, and joined the Victorian Order of Nurses. Her heart, though, truly lay in the library world, and she was the Branch Head for many years at the Parksville Branch of Vancouver Island Regional Library, until her retirement in 1991.

Her life was full with her involvement in the Canadian Cancer Society for whom she co-ordinated the Volunteer Driver Service; Meals on Wheels; S.O.S. (the Society of Organized Services) of which she formerly served on the Board of Directors; Women at Knox, and many other groups. She was a long-time devoted member of St. Stephen’s United Church in Qualicum Beach, B.C.

She lived her life according to her firm beliefs in God and the Christian spirit, and service to others.

Roberta is survived by her cousin, Lilian Greig in Coupar Angus, Perthshire, Scotland, and her family. Roberta enjoyed the company of many dear friends.

A Celebration of Roberta’s life will be held at

St. Stephen’s United Church on Friday, April 3rd

at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Phil Spencer officiating.
