Roy is survived by his loving wife, Judy and predeceased by his late wife, Carmen, in June, 1999. He leaves 2 daughters, Sharron (Al) Holt and Gail Cambell; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his sister Evelyn (Jack) and their 3 daughters and brother Jerry (Maddie) and his 2 sons and one daughter. Roy was born and raised in Port Alberni and was a long time employee of MacMillan Bloedel, rising to management level and serving in various locations. He was an avid golfer and for the last 15 years was a member of the Memorial Golf Club in Qualicum Beach, BC. He was much loved by his family and many friends and will be sorely missed. The world became a darker place when his light was extinguished. Special thanks are extended to the staff on the First Floor (Heart Section) of NRGH for their care and compassion and for the care Roy received briefly in Palliative Care.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of His Life will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2002 at 2:00 PM at St. Stephen’s United Church, 150 Village Way, Qualicum Beach, BC with Reverend Douglas Sly officiating.
