SPENCER, Ruby Louise (nee Nelson) Born in Chilliwack, BC July 16, 1912, passed away peacefully in Nanaimo, BC on November 14, 2004 Predeceased by her husband William Rueban in1985, son William Duane in 1990, daughter Ruby in 1941, her parents and four brothers: Art, Stanley, Lionel and Ray Nelson.
Ruby is survived by her sons Ronald "Bud" (Patricia), Herbert "Charles" (Sylvia); daughter-in-law Mary (Spencer) Kelly; eleven grandsons and three step-granddaughters, many great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many friends. She is also survived by her only sister Violet Cameron.
Her love of her husband ("Billy Boy") and her family, hard work and her faith sustained her throughout her life. She helped foster music to her children and as a result of that legacy, love of music has been passed down to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The entire family wishes to thank Dr. T. Davies, Nanaimo Seniors Village Lodge and all the nurses who made her life so comfortable and her final days so graceful and dignified.
A special thank you to Kim and John for their love and care over the years to "Gram". A Funeral Service will be held at St. Anne/St. Edmund Anglican Church, 407 Wembley Road, Parksville, BC on Friday, November 19, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Andrew Twiddy officiating.
Visitation from 12:30 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. at St. Anne/St. Edmund Church.
