Passed away July 9, 2009 at Nanaimo General
Hospital Palliative Care Ward of Cancer.
Shirley was born April 12, 1936 in Edmonton, Alberta. She was the daughter of James and Amy Thompson (Berry).
Shirley is survived by 3 children: Donna Forsgren of Parksville, BC; Doug (Laurie) Finlay of New Westminster, BC; Amy (Peter) Cornell of Qualicum Beach, BC, grandchildren: Jay, Eli, Sarah, Lisa, Anne, Shael, Cindy, Skyler, Lukas, Madison, Makenzie and great-grandchildren: Colin and Elizabeth.
She was predeceased by her brother: Jim Thompson, eldest son; Ken Thompson, and son-in-law Daryl Forsgren.
Shirley will be remembered for her expertise and love of cooking, tending to her herb garden, her love of music and playing bridge and will be fondly remembered by family and friends.
In respect of Shirley’s wishes there will be no service.
