PHILLIPS, STUART EVERARD
Born Jan 22, 1928 in Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away after a lengthy illness on July 29th, 2007 in Qualicum Beach.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Velma and sister Dorothy both in 1999. Stuart will be lovingly remembered by his son Scott and daughter-in-law Angela; brother-in-law Jack (Betty); brother-in-law Doug (Faye); sister-in-law Beryl (Chuck); many cousins, nieces, nephews and a tremendous amount of friends and?colleagues.
 Stuart worked over 40 years in the Insurance Industry beginning in Toronto with the Canadian Indemnity and moved to Vancouver in 1969 to start with Brouwer & Company. Settling in West Vancouver, he became a partner and when the company sold and it became Morden & Helwig Stu retired as Vice President in 1988, moving to Qualicum.
 Stu loved island life…golfing, gardening and entertaining. When Val passed away, Stu became “Martha Stewart” throwing many elaborate multi-course dinners for friends and family.Â
 Many thanks to the wonderful caring staff at Nanaimo Palliative Care...Patricia, Anne Stephanie etc and staff of “The Gardens” in Qualicum especially Helen and Debbie. A special heartfelt thanks to Stuart’s close friends and family for all their tireless help and companionship that made Dad’s final days all the more enjoyable.
 A memorial service will be held Wednesday,?August 29th 2007 at 2:00 pm at St. Stephen’s United Church, 150 Village Way, Qualicum.
