VAN DRENT, Theo

April 13, 1935 – April 18, 2006

Passed away in a tragic accident in San Augustinilio, Oaxaca, Mexico.

Survived by his wife, Pauline, and son, Derek; sister, Annie, and brother-in-law, Harry Mann; sister, Yosi Van Marren. Theo also leaves behind many friends and relatives in Nanoose Bay and all corners of the world.

Born in Holland, Theo arrived in Canada in 1953. He travelled the globe extensively from New Zealand to Singapore, Belize and Africa to Central and South America. He settled with his wife, Pauline, in Nanoose Bay in 1987 creating Theo’s Wood Nook, Ye Frying Dutchman and VanDrent’s Images.

He lived his life to the fullest of his (mine) abilities and made a huge impact on hundreds of people’s lives. He was a teacher, a healer, a story teller and very, very wise. He fulfilled his final dream of building a house in Mexico (La Casa Magica) with his son Derek, his final resting place.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Arlington Inn, Nanoose Bay on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 2:00 pm.
