McIVER, Thomas Allen Passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2003
after an unexpected, short, but courageous battle with cancer.
Tom is survived by his loving wife Joanne; children, Carey (Annabel), Scott and Kristine (Roger); grandchildren, Alexandra and Hayden; brother Don (Pauline); sister Margerite and many nieces and nephews. Tom was born in Vancouver on February 8, 1928 and graduated from UBC as a chemical engineer in 1951 at which time he began working for Shell Oil Canada. His job with Shell lasted for 29 years and took the family from Vancouver to Montreal, Toronto, Winnepeg, Sarnia and back to Toronto. Retirement in 1980 brought Tom and Joanne to Qualicum Beach, BC where Tom spent his years playing golf, working on community projects (The Old School House) and living life to its fullest. He will remain in our hearts forever.
Celebration of Life to be held on Friday, July 11, 2003 at 2:00 pm at the Tigh-Na-Mara Resort, 1095 East Island Highway, Parksville, BC.
