THOMAS KENNETH HORWOOD
October 7, 1934 - August 7, 2007
Passed away at home.
Beloved husband of Avril; devoted father to Joanne (Andrew) and Julie (Trent), dear granddad to Torben, Michaela, Jacob and Ainslie; brother to Betty and Janet (Reading, England). Tom and Avril immigrated to Calgary in 1958. He worked at AGT and then taught electronics and telecommunications at S.A.I.T. in Calgary. Upon retiring to Qualicum in 1994, he pursued his lifetime passions of ham radio (VA7 TKH), M.I.R.A., and golfing.
Tom bore his illness with a calm dignity. Tom?Äôs family would like to acknowledge the loving care from Dr. Kingston, Dr. Robin Love, Dr. Katherine King, Dr. Gubbins, and the Home Care Nurses especially CHARLOTTE ROBINSON. We will never forget her tenderness towards our family.
Memorial Tea to be held at Yate?Äôs Funeral Home, Parksville, on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m.
