KATILA, Thomasine (Tommy)
1931 - 2005
It is with great sadness that Tommy’s family announces that she passed away peacefully on October 17, 2005. Tommy is survived by her children, Linda (Rick), Gary (Donna), Stephen and Darren (Michele) as well as her grandchildren Jason (Bev), Kari (Steve), Dylan, Cassidy, and Colton and five great grandchildren Kaylie, Connor, Justin, Brynn and Brayden.
Tommy was born in Campbellford, Ontario to Tom and Daisy Sampson and moved to Port Alberni in 1955 as a young bride. She spent
many happy years there, before moving to Parksville in 1981. Throughout her life she loved people, she loved to entertain us all, always
offering both refreshment and conversation. Her generosity of spirit and kind heart will be remembered along with her sense of humour and
feistiness.
Our mom has been helped through her struggles over the years by the outstanding caregivers at Trillium Lodge and Parksville Home
Support. She not only loved those who cared for her, they loved her. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to all of you; you made her life
comfortable and happy. You are truly special in so very many ways.
Mom’s passing leaves an empty space in our lives that will always be filled with our memories.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, October 22nd (2:00 pm) at her daughter’s home, 1299 Pintail Drive, Qualicum Beach.
Anyone wishing to attend is most welcome.
