MATTHEWSON, VALERIE FRANCES
died peacefully on September 9, 2010. Valerie emigrated from Wales to Canada in 1948. She was an avid reader and worked in the Riverdale Library in Toronto where she met and soon married her loving husband Donald. They moved to Richmond in 1962 where they raised their family and Valerie continued to work in the library. After retiring she and Donald moved to Qualicum Beach and enjoyed many years together before Donald predeceased her in June 2000. Valerie will be remembered with love by her children Robert (Graciela, deceased), Jean (Arno), Ann (Rob), Ian (Jenny), Helen (Dave) and several grandchildren. Among those also mourning Valerie are her great friends Christiane & Robert Kerr and Marge Green. Memorial to be held in Qualicum Beach at a later date. Special thanks to the staff at St. Michael's for their caring and kindness.
