MORRIS, Viive “V”

(Abermann)

June 1, 1950 - September 13, 2008

“V” passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side. “V” was born in Sweden to Estonian parents, Oskar and Hilda Abermann, and immigrated to Canada at an early age. She spent most of her life in Toronto where she was well known in the jewellery trade as a fine diamond setter, designer, and goldsmith. “V” also taught diamond setting at George Brown College.

“V” moved to Bowser in 2003 with her husband of 33 years, Dave, and her son, Christopher. Although she went into semi-retirement, her special skills in diamond setting continued to be in demand from jewellers across Canada. “V” was also an excellent artist and became a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA).

“V” was predeceased by her father, Oskar, in 2005 and is survived by her loving husband Dave, son Christopher, mother Hilda, and brother Ray (Sue). At Viive’s request, there will be no service.
