William “Bill” Charles Pearce
May 23, 1923 – May 16, 2017
Bill passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in his 93rd year. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Catherine; children, Linda (Ted), Susan (Richard), Valerie (Pat), Lorraine (Dan), David, Kathy (Ken), Diane (Randy), Janet (Cory); 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Bill was predeceased by his daughter, Annette and great granddaughter, Jaime.
Bill grew up in Liverpool, England where he served in the RAF during WWII. He and Catherine immigrated to Canada in 1948 where he served in the RCAF until retiring to Vancouver Island in 1972.
Bill loved music, singing, and dancing, ballroom and square dancing in particular, and made many good friends while enjoying these pastimes. Catherine and Bill travelled extensively and enjoyed many cruises together over the years.
He will be dearly missed.
A Memorial Mass will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Catholic Church of the Ascension, 887 Wembley Road in Parksville. A reception will follow.
