Parksville being ruined forever

Our city council has urged us to be patient;  When the Parksville Beach Club is finished it will look great.  I’m sure it will, but not in Prarksville and definitely not on the beach. It is much more suited to a larger centre such as Nanaimo.

I’ve tried to think positively about it. After all, it’s here to stay, but I’m afraid I simply can’t do it.  Every time I walk by (or I’m even just outdoors) the sound of  that pile driver is like a death knell to all the values that have made Parksville such an attractive place to live.

Contrary to council’s assertions that the majority of residents were in favour of such a monstrous construction we definitely were not.

I truly hope that our city council will give serious thought to all this headlong rush to develop every last bit of space left in the city.
