Progressive is such a nasty word
In regards to Gerald Hall’s letter (The News, Oct. 30), contrary to what he would have us believe, the majority of Canadians, not just humanists, secularists, leftists and the media, do not put the rights of a brainless zygote before the well being of a living breathing human being.
In fact, according to recent polls, most Canadians are also in favour of stem cell research, euthanasia, same sex marriage, gay rights, the legalization of marijuana, getting out of Afghanistan, cleaning up the environment and scrapping the monarchy and the American-style wars on drugs, terror and every country they don’t agree with.
You know, the progressive stuff — which is probably why the Conservative Party finally agreed to remove the nasty little word from its name.
