Text and cycle?

There is something wrong with that picture on page A5 of Tuesday’s edition of The NEWS.

The caption under the photo about Qualicum Beach winning the bike-to-work challenge against Parksville says this is an event that “promotes the ever-increasing number of people safely commuting by bicycle.”

The two people on the lead bikes in the photo do not have helmets on. The man right in the front appears to be texting or reading a text while cycling. That’s not really the safety measures they are trying to get across.
