I would like to thank Neil Horner for writing such a wonderful tribute to Al Savage (The News, Feb. 25).
I have known him for years and Neil said it all ... he was the kindest soul I have met and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.
Yes, it’s true he may have appeared to be grubby or homeless, he was a prince of a man, with always a kind word and never complained about his lot in life.
He will be sadly missed by many. I’m sorry there won’t be a service where we can go pay our respects and convey to his children what a wonderful man he was.
I hope he’s resting peacefully somewhere warm.
