I would like to extend a special thank you to the Parksville/Qualicum Fish and Game Association for their recent “Fishing Forever” event held by the lake at the Coombs Campground.
This annual event provides an opportunity for individuals in our community who are coping with various disabilities to spend a relaxing day by the lake, which has been stocked with rainbow trout.
Fishing poles and worms were provided. Guests enjoyed refreshments from Tim Hortons, and a bagged lunch from Quality Foods. The musical entertainment by the Coombs Fiddlers was enjoyed by all.
The event was very well-organized and very much appreciated by our members and I am happy to report that one of our fishermen caught a tasty trout.
