Re: Latest drought shows need for reservoir (Letters, Sept. 5).

As the proverbial saying goes, Mr. O’Brien has hit the nail on the head in his letter recently.

We have an abundant supply of rain in the winter months but inadequate storage capacity for this water. The obvious solution is an upland reservoir for storage, which could be gravity-fed to the filtration plant.

Perhaps council and city staff should revisit this option, in light of year after year of continuous drought and anticipated population growth in the area.
