Town needs more than to maintain
Good financial planning requires balance, not extremes.
To imply that a responsible city budget should consist only of costs to maintain infrastructure is absolutely wrong.
I have chosen to live in Qualicum Beach because of the lifestyle I can enjoy within this community.
I expect the financial plan for my community to complement its needs, as expressed in the official community plan.
I do not expect my elected officials to tell me that we will only spend to maintain. As good as life is in Qualicum Beach, there is always opportunity for improvement.
In my opinion the proposed budget is a balanced budget consistent with the community plan.
