Which way is it?
In response to the letter from B.C. Hydro’s Gary Murphy regarding smart meters. Murphy talked about misinformation. Now, let’s talk about omitted information.
B.C. Hydro has failed to tell their customers that smart meters are designed to allow time-of-use billing. Name one jurisdiction where these meters are in use and the customer is not billed more for prime-time power consumption. Prime-time hours will cost you more than non prime hours.
B.C. Hydro is either hiding this information until they are ready to implement time-of-use billing or they spent a billion dollars to purchase technology that they never plan to use. Which is it Mr. Murphy?
