KSS Grad tree chip and bottle drive success
What a great way to start the New Year.
Kwalikum Secondary School’s 2014 grads had a hugely successful fundraiser on Saturday. The tree chipping and bottle drive fundraiser had an excellent turn out of volunteers, both grads and grad parents/families, and the support of the Town of Qualicum Beach, with town councillors and the mayor in attendance, as well as several public works staff members.
This six-hour volunteer effort raised an amazing $3,028.90 — $940 was raised in cash donations and $2,088.90 in bottles. It is also anticipated that more will be raised in the coming weeks as residents drop off their trees, donations and bottles at the Qualicum Beach public works yard.
A huge thank-you to all the volunteers, the Town of Qualicum Beach, the mayor, councillors and staff, and the residents who supported this KSS Grad 2014 fundraising event. We couldn’t have done it without you.
