Letters to the Editor

Sick?: stay at home

To all those people who go out in public when they are sick with a cold or the flu (or companies that extol employees that come in sick), please, for one minute, think about the impact you may have on someone else’s life.

The impact on the lady you stood next to in the supermarket who is looking after her ailing mother, that little boy who touched the handle of the door after you who has a new born baby sister at home, that man who cannot afford not to work as he must support his family. The computations are endless.

I do understand, and also empathize that you, too, may have to work to earn money, but to what ends if you have infected many more people. I know some people reading this may consider me selfish, or self serving, I consider myself acting responsibly by staying at home. If you take care of yourself you are ultimately taking care of all of us.
