The opportunity for a settlement in the teachers strike is gone for the summer. The sides apparently are too far apart.
Weather it’s class size or pay hikes, the line from the government and its instruction for all MLAs is the same: “There’s no more money.”
So, instead of investing in education, we are investing in LNG, if it happens at all, sometime in the next five or 10 years.
“There’s no more money,” but we found billions for the Winter Olympics.
Well, the Liberals have been in power since 2001, that’s 13 years. And in 13 years there’s still no money.
If in fact this is the party made up of the “smart” business class and the NDP are the tax-and-spend party, where’s the money? Surely in 13 years, the smart folks in government would have had enough money to see that we have some smart youth coming out of our education system to fill all those Liquid Natural Gas jobs.
Perhaps the next time our MLA Michelle Stilwell is handing out the non-existent money at a local event she could “show us the money.”
