It was with considerable disappointment and a bit of disgust that I read about the asinine decision to install a roundabout at the intersection of Memorial and Hwy 19A. Surely this T-intersection would be adequately served by a 3-way stop system, and at considerably less cost.
The residents of Eaglecrest and those who play golf here have been hoping for, and requesting, a roundabout for years, to eliminate the busy and dangerous full intersection at Village Way and Hwy. 19A. The 70-kph speed limit makes crossing the highway very dangerous, particularly in the summer when the region is full of tourists.
Please, council, reconsider the location of this roundabout.
