I find it appalling that in Qualicum Beach, if you conserve water, you get charged for an amount far greater than you actually use.
This is sending totally the wrong message. It implies we should waste water as much as possible as we will be charged for it regardless of how little we use. Shame on the mayor and council. We should be charged only for the amount of water we use, and if you insist on a default charge, the difference should be able to be applied to the next water bill, that we get after the summer.
Come on, mayor and council… wake up! Be environmentally responsible!
