I am writing with deep concern about a terribly dangerous intersection in our community.
As you exit Highway 19A from Nanaimo (Exit 51) and try to turn left towards Coombs, you take a very risky turn.
There is traffic travelling east and west, turning north to the Comox Valley, merging to go into Parksville, trying to turn left towards Coombs.
There is frequently a long line of cars turning left (west) when it’s safe to do so, and it really never is safe.
This intersection desperately needs some traffic lights.
I have seen so many close calls and hope that it doesn’t take a fatality before attention is paid to this area.
