As a resident of Lasqueti Island, I am extremely bothered by the survivor contest PQB News is running. In no way, shape, or form does it have anything to do with Lasqueti other than to capitalize on the name.
1. Not one participant is an islander.
2. The contest does not take place on Lasqueti.
3. Shows no reflection of the history or culture of the island.
4. The prize for one winner is a weekend in Victoria… not Lasqueti and not even local.
Good job PQB News! Send local dollars to another community through the appropriation of a community that is not even your own.
