Parksville Royals recover in Vancouver
PARKSVILLE — In Senior Royals baseball action, the Quality Foods crew was in Abbottsford on the weekend for an invitational tournament.
According to Mike Parlow, the locals played well and lost a heartbreaker in the semi-finals against Vancouver, 5-4 in extra innings.
Highlights included Mitchell Powelson’s 76-pitch complete game shut-out in the first game to beat the North Shore Twins 6-0.
In game three, Marcus Drewry also threw a complete game win as the Royals trumped the White Rock Tritons 2-1.
The 7-1 Royals were in Nanaimo at Serauxman Stadium Wednesday evening to take on the 8-2 Pirates in a battle for top spot in the BC Premier Baseball League (BCPBL).
