Ballenas holding at ninth ranking in Island AAA hoops

PARKSVILLE - The Whalers are at ninth, and holding.

The Ballenas Secondary School Whalers senior boys basketball team of Parksville are ranked ninth in Vancouver Island AAA-level play.

Released by SportVictoria, a poll has the Whalers in ninth place, a position they've held for at least two weeks. Leading the was is Victoria's Mount Doug high school, followed by Oak Bay and Belmont, both of Victoria.

The poll is selected from a cross-section of AAA basketball coaches from around the Island.
