BSS boys still alive

Ballenas Secondary School’s senior boys basketball team lost their final two regular season games, but get another kick at the can on home court this Thursday in a wildcard game against the Alberni Armada to determine who goes to the North Islands — which starts the next day at Dover Bay in Nanaimo.

Make the four-team North Islands and the boys from Ballenas will also punch their ticket to the Islands as all four teams advance  — the North Islands are for seeding purposes.

BSS guard Dustin Rodriguez has been injured and is recovering for playoffs.

Tipoff for Thursday’s winner-take-all match is 5 p.m.
