The May long weekend proved to be golden for the Female Island Elite Pee Wee spring hockey team.

After two months of on ice training, players from Oceanside, Port Alberni, Nanaimo, Peninsula, Campbell River, Victoria and Juan de Fuca, won five of six games, including four shut-outs. An all-island gold medal game against the Female Young Guns saw the Elite come out clearly on top with a 6 - 1 victory.

Next up for the Elite — Winnipeg’s North American Classic in June.
