PARKSVILLE — The way this year’s Parksville-Qualium Beach lawn bowling club challenge worked, is that Qualicum Beach teams came over to the Parksville club for round one Tuesday morning.

After lunch at the club in Parksville, the players moved their games up to Qualicum Beach’s club.

“It’s always a friendly rivalry when we play each other,” said Parksville club spokesperson Carol Bucyk, “and this year, Parksville was successful.”

This challenge, she continued, has been going on since the mid-1990s.

“A lot of good memories and friendships have been built between the two clubs because of this event.”
