Workout with winterball

From the desk of Oceanside Minor Baseball prez Mike Parlow comes a reminder the local association will be offering winterball from January to March for players from Mosquito through Bantam.

· Mosquito (born 2002 & 2003) Monday evenings, January 28 through March 4.

· Pee Wee (b. 2000 & 2001) Tuesday evenings, January 15 through March 12.

· Bantam (b. 1998 & 1999) Friday evenings, January 15 through March 12.

Cost is $26.25 and you can register online.

“Winterball is designed for fun and fitness while we wait to get out into the sun and play some ball. Skills and drills with lots of wiffle!” said Parlow.

STILL WITH BASEBALL, the Parksville Royals have secured winterball facilities at the Arbutus Equestrian Centre in Nanoose Bay on Sunday mornings starting Jan. 6, 2013.

The coaching staff strongly recommend that any player wishing to participate with the Royals in 2013 maximize their attendance at these workouts. All returning Royals, future Royals, and North Island Bantam AAA current and future (Grades 8 & 9) are encouraged to attend. For more information contact coach Wallace at 250-248-2351 or by e-mail at dwallace12@shaw.ca.
