From the desk of Parksville Lawn Bowling Club’s Carol Bucyk comes word that while PLBC is always on a roll on great greens during spring and summer months, “but on Saturday, Feb. 16, members would like to roll up pennies from the community in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.”
According to Carol, the club’s doors will be open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. with members on hand “to gratefully accept your unwanted, unnecessary pennies which will then be rolled up, counted and given to the mid-island unit of the Canadian Cancer Society.
which is celebrating its 75th Anniversary this year.
“The funds raised from this penny drive stay locally to help support patient care in our community,” said Carol, adding the PLBC fundraiser is also part of the Shades of Pink initiative held annually by the club to help local cancer patients and their families.
Parksville Lawn Bowling Club is located at 149 East Stanford Street in Parksville, behind Stanford Place and across from Parksville Elementary School.
