Clinic for Oceanside minor baseball coaches
From Oceanside Minor Baseball president Mike Parlow comes a reminder the UBC Thunderbirds will be hosting a player development and coaching clinic April 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Kwalikum Secondary School.
“While the players run through drills and games, parents will receive coaching instruction from Terry McKaig, head coach of the UBC Thunderbirds baseball program,” said Parlow, adding that the clinic will focus on first time coaches, “so parents new to baseball or coaching are encouraged to participate.”
Other dates of note are the House League player evaluations, with the Bantams April 5, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Arrowview Elementary; Mosquitos and Peewees April 6 at Springwood Park at 10 a.m. The Midget evaluations have yet to be announced, but there will also be a player orientation for the Tadpoles at QB Rec Fields April. 8 from 6-7 p.m. and another for the Blastball kids at Springwood Park April 27.
Oceanside Minor Baseball’s opening day ceremonies are slated for Saturday, April 27 at Springwood Old.
