QB rink wins at bonspiel

The 11th annual Qualicum Foods Mens’ Open Bonspiel recently took place (January 16-19) at the Qualicum and District Curling Club.

The event saw 24 teams competing, eight from out of Parksville Qualicum Beach. There was plenty of action and great games over the three days.

Winners of the Qualicum Foods bracket were led by skip Kevin Britt, whose team from Victoria consisted of third Blair Cusack, second Tony Anslow and lead Keith Clark.

The Jim and Margo Hoffman bracket was captured by skip Dean Thulin and his team from Campbell River, third Lyle Boyce, second Brad Sullivan and lead Tom Green.

Winning the Pharmasave event was the team out of Qualicum Beach. Their team consisted of skip Carey Sulz, third Chris Moore, second Greg Peachey and lead Cliff Reynolds.

The winners of the Shadyrest Waterfront Restaurant event were skip Ron Schmidt’s team from Comox, which included third Todd Peachey, second Ian Cook and lead Don Pennell.
