Fish and Game Club shoot and fundraiser
On Saturday, March 22, the Parksville Qualicum Fish and Game Association hosted shooters from all of Vancouver Island competing in their 10th fundraiser shoot.
The net revenues generated this year are donated to the Oceanside branch of The Stroke Recovery Association of B.C. for exercise, speech, art and care giver support programs.
Kathleen Falvai, coordinator of Oceanside Stroke Recovery was very pleased with the turnout of seventy-eight shooters despite the threatening weather.
“It is so heartwarming to see the support this club has for stroke victims. Like the Parksville Qualicum Fish and Game Club, our organization is also run by volunteers and I have been telling everybody about our spring concert featuring the Songbirds Choir at Knox United Church on April 12.”
Tickets for the evening event, which will include a small silent auction, are $10 at the door. It will be a great evening underscored with the uplifting sound of a choir. Anyone can contact Kathleen at 250-338-6766 to help or for more information.
The Parksville Qualicum Fish and Game Association operates its shotgun range at 1979 Dorman Road (Dashwood) for trap and skeet shooting on Sundays from 10 a.m. and on even dated Wednesdays from 11 a.m. Sporting clays are shot on the fourth Saturday of each month starting at 9:15 a.m.
