Locals help win hockey provincials

The North Island Impact midget female hockey team has returned victorius from the provincials in Salmon Arm.

After losing their first two games of the tournament, the North Island Impact went unbeaten the rest of the way, beating the Richmond Ravens, who they lost to in their first game of the tournament by a score of 5–3.

The final against Richmond saw a back and forth game between the two teams, with the Impact scoring the go ahead goal at 9:49 of the third period to hold on for the 4–3 victory.

Locals Marijke Campbell, Lindsay Pilton, Erin Murdoch, Robynn Olson, Erin Pickup, Tianna and Kyla Squire all factored throughout the tournament to help the Impact capture the midget female provincial title.
