Oceanside track stars heading to Nanaimo's BC Summer Games

The Oceanside Track and Field Club (OTF) will have two representatives, so far, on the Island Zone 6 team at the B.C. Summer Games.

Along with coach Kim Longmuir, Noah Elliott and Dalton Austin have made the Zone 6 team.

Elliott was selected to participate in discus, while Austin will also compete in discus and hammer throw. Both Elliott and Austin trained hard with OTF throwing coach, Cathy McKenzie, to come up with big throws at the trials in Nanaimo on May 24.

Four other members of the OTF are awaiting word on whether or not they will be joining their club mates on the Zone 6 team.

Simon Morrison, Thomas Grabher, Serena Woolnough and Kyra Blyt are all wild cards and are awaiting word to see if they made the team.

The B.C. Summer Games take place from July 17 to 20 in Nanaimo.
