PARKSVILLE — From the hardwood comes more good news about our local hoopsters.
Ballenas Secondary School’s junior boys basketball team finished fourth at the Island championships last weekend and punched their ticket to the provincials slated for Saint Michael’s University School in Victoria from March 3 to 5.
According to coach Steve Dorsay, the Whalers opened the Islands with a 52-40 win over Pacific Christian, then lost to Claremont 50-40 in game two.
BSS beat the Ice from Mark Isfeld 46-44 in a nail-bither in game three, then closed it out with a 46-38 loss to Dover in the consolation game.
